Chapel Discussion Questions - 3/23/16

Today’s chapel speech was given by Marco, who talked about the authority of the Bible in a way that engaged us!  He began by asking us to think about who is the smartest, most powerful, and best?  Of course the students all knew that the answer is God!

Marco talked about the fact that God loves us so much that He gives us clear messages that we can see every day:  When the sun comes up God is saying, “Good morning!”  When the moon comes out at night God is saying, “Good night.”  As long as we have been alive, God has always allowed day and night to keep happening.  God has continued to send us the message about how faithful He is and how He never changes!

God has also given us important messages in the book that He had written for us, the Bible.  In the same way that some mothers write “I love you,” and place the message in their children’s lunchboxes, God has written a love letter, the Bible, to all the people in the world.  God tell us how much He loves us in the Bible!  Because God made us and He knows all about us, He has also recorded answers to all our important questions in the Bible.

When we listen to the things the Bible says and try to obey them, we develop a better and closer relationship with our heavenly Father, God.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 Easy-to-Read Version
“But you should continue following the teaching you learned. You know it is true, because you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have known the Holy Scriptures since you were a child. These Scriptures are able to make you wise. And that wisdom leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live. Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work.”

Discussion Questions:
1.    How do you think the Bible is like a love letter from God?
2.    How does God know the answer to life’s important questions?
3.    How can you become a closer friend to God?

Let’s all listen to what God is saying to us!

Happy Easter!
